A Yule Poem
‘Twas a deep and dreary night
Void of heat and void of light.
Then along game a Goddess young
Belly full and swift of tongue
Young babe to be born this longest night
His birth to hearken light
The Sun God and consort he was
Bringing cheer and light is what he does
‘Tis Yule morn one and all
The birth sounded its clarion call
The Wheel it turns and brings new life
The Winter soon ends and with it strife
Blessings of warm and light to you
From the Goddess and babe God so new.
Void of heat and void of light.
Then along game a Goddess young
Belly full and swift of tongue
Young babe to be born this longest night
His birth to hearken light
The Sun God and consort he was
Bringing cheer and light is what he does
‘Tis Yule morn one and all
The birth sounded its clarion call
The Wheel it turns and brings new life
The Winter soon ends and with it strife
Blessings of warm and light to you
From the Goddess and babe God so new.
